1. Who we are
The Judge is an AI-assisted mediation tool. For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is the creator of The Judge. If you have any questions about how your data is handled, please contact us through the site.
2. What data we collect
When you use The Judge, we may collect and process the following information:
- The names you provide for each party in a mediation session.
- The written or voice-transcribed responses you submit during the intake questionnaire.
- The topic description you provide when creating a session.
- Technical data such as your browser type, device type, and approximate location (country/region), collected automatically for service operation and security purposes.
- If you create an account, your name and email address as provided via the authentication provider.
3. How we use your data
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Facilitate the mediation session and generate AI-assisted summaries and resolutions.
- Detect potential welfare or safeguarding concerns and provide appropriate signposting.
- Improve the reliability and quality of the service.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. Voice recordings
If you use the voice input feature, your audio is transmitted to a speech-to-text service for transcription. The resulting text is then used as your written response. Audio recordings are not stored by The Judge after transcription is complete. The transcription service used is subject to its own privacy terms.
5. AI processing
The text you submit is processed by an AI language model to generate neutral language suggestions, summaries, and resolutions. This processing is carried out on secure servers. Your responses may be sent to a third-party AI provider as part of this process. We take reasonable steps to ensure that data sent to AI providers is handled securely and is not used to train external models.
6. Data retention
Session data (party names, responses, summaries, and resolutions) is retained for a limited period to allow parties to return and review their resolution. We do not retain session data indefinitely. If you wish to request deletion of your session data, please contact us.
7. Your rights under UK GDPR
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data ("the right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Cookies and local storage
The Judge uses browser local storage to remember whether you have accepted these terms, so you are not asked again on each visit. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
9. Third-party services
The Judge is built on infrastructure provided by Manus. Session data is stored in a database hosted by Manus's platform. Voice transcription and AI language processing are provided by third-party services. Each of these providers operates under its own privacy terms and data processing agreements.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
