Terms of Use
Last updated: April 2026
1. About this service
The Judge is an AI-assisted mediation tool that helps people in dispute find common ground. It is provided for informational and facilitative purposes only. It is not a legal service, does not constitute legal advice, and does not create any legally binding agreement between parties.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By using The Judge, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the service. These terms apply to all users, including those who create sessions and those who participate in them.
3. Nature of the service
The Judge uses artificial intelligence to analyse the perspectives shared by parties and to suggest neutral language, identify common ground, and propose steps forward. The outputs generated are suggestions only. They do not represent the views of any human mediator, legal professional, or qualified counsellor, and should not be treated as such.
The Judge is not a substitute for professional legal advice, formal mediation, counselling, or any statutory process. Where a dispute involves legal rights, safeguarding concerns, or matters of personal safety, you should seek appropriate professional assistance.
4. Appropriate use
You agree to use The Judge only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these terms. You must not:
- Submit false, misleading, or fabricated information about another person.
- Use the service to harass, threaten, or defame any individual.
- Attempt to manipulate the AI outputs for purposes other than genuine dispute resolution.
- Use the service in connection with any criminal activity or conduct that is unlawful under UK law.
5. Safeguarding and welfare
The Judge includes automated detection of potential welfare and safeguarding concerns disclosed during a session. Where such concerns are identified, the service will flag them and signpost relevant support organisations. However, this detection is not infallible and does not replace human judgement. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services (999) immediately.
6. Intellectual property
All content, code, design, prompts, and materials comprising The Judge are the intellectual property of their creator and are protected by copyright under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of this service without prior written permission.
The name "The Judge" and associated branding are the property of the creator. Unauthorised use of the name or brand in connection with a competing or similar service is prohibited.
7. Limitation of liability
The Judge is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the creator of The Judge accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or harm arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to reliance on any AI-generated output, failure of the service to detect a safeguarding concern, or any dispute outcome.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The date at the top of this page indicates when the terms were last revised.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from the use of this service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
